Comprehensive study of skills that should provide students with a strong mathematics foundation to pursue further study. Topics: principles and applications of ratio and proportions, percents, conversions, linear equations, radicals, logarithm and understanding significant figures.


Analytical Chemistry

Instructor: Dr. Kumar

Laboratory course designed to teach some of the separation and analytical techniques as well as quantitative methods of analysis to the students in the first analytical chemistry course.


Organic Chemistry

Instructor: Dr. Franks

Mini-course that introduces students to all of the most common and most important techniques that are used in organic chemistry.


Biochemistry

Instructor: Dr. Kanipes

Course designed to provide an historical perspective of biochemistry, a study of the four major biological macromolecules: proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids and biochemical techniques used in various fields such as forensics, agriculture and medicine.
